Comment:

This is my first shot at a completely indie-mix. I will aknowledge that some of these bands/singers are no longer really indie, Dido, Coldplay, Dave Matthews, all of whom have begun to hit it big, all of whom have reached Top 10 on the Billboard Charts with their latest albums. However, as they reached where they are now, through making good music, not good neccessarily marketing I still consider them to be indie at heart. So hopefully the critics won't be too harsh... Just as a note, I almost threw on some Suede and Paul Wellers, but they didn't really fit...

and I don't think Nick Drake was ever considered indie, but he's still cool.

or I should say, was, as Nick's been dead for over 25 years now.

Yeah, I have to admit I don't know a whole lot about Nick Drake, but as you so eloquently put it, "he's cool" and the song just plain old fit. I will admit that I sacrificed a little principle for a better sound, but that's life...

Alex, that's ok, because, ultimately, it has to sound good to the listener, right? (the indie purists will wince, however, but who cares).

Hi

Not to be totally anal, but I just discovered that fantabulous Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds song and it is called "Say Goodbye". There is also a really long instrumental version of it on Crash. Good mix.

Yeah, I should edit that, but... you know. I don't want to. I like the the Dave & Tim version much more than the version on Crash, and i think it runs better as an acoustic in the mix. That was mentioned on another of my mixes (I used the song twice)and I apologize to all those who have suffered from my indifferance.
