Comment:
67m23s. Many thanks to magnificent mixers Salman1 and Barrydali for the Mary Weiss and Emma Pollack tracks, respectively.
#2 is in 3/4 time
#4 has a wicked bassoon part
#6 final release w/ group 1967, first solo release 2007
#11 a Leonard Cohen cover
#12 the subject redhead is Bonnie Raitt
#14 a Johnette original, unrelated to an identically titled song by Aimee Mann
#17 a gorgeous piece with slightly religious overtones
Feedback:
Great gathering of Gitls Gone Solo. Love 2,4,5 and 17 especially
not normally a female solo artist kind of guy, which is odd because i've been listening to alot of them lately - go figure. anyhow, this looks like a job well done
I think you should count yourself in the list of Magnificent Mixers, Ed. Nice theme, great selections. Love the Linda, Aimee, Mary and the TM gals...
Very nice.
Very nice, especially like 2 and 6!
This looks like a great collection, Ed. I'm listening to that Emma Pollock track right now, it might not be as good as the Delgados' best material (then again, the bar was set pretty high), but it sure makes me want to check out her upcoming album.
i love women. thanks.
You are welcome, and boy you are good...
Very cool concept. Love the Sarah Shannon selection.Musicgnomeformerly of Musicgnome and the Gnomedellas
Nice looking mix, Ed...& great idea for a theme.
I assume you made this...alone.

I really enjoyed that Mary Weiss album - odd kind of voice. Nice stuff . . . is there a male version coming ?
Proof indeed that my collection is woefully short of singers of the female variety.
good stuff all 'round
Great idea for a mix, and finely executed (great HTML work by the way). I guess Bjork didn't make the cut ;)
Damn! Moe took the words right off my fingertips. Scoundrel.(Although I'm fine with Bjork not making the cut.) So, ditto Moe.
Your more than welcome for that fantastic Mary Weiss track. Nicely put together mix.
This looks like a fine mix--lots I love, in fact. I would, however, like to respectfully refrain from ever again hearing the voices of Dolores O'Riordan and Johnette Napolitano... to each his own, though.
Looks swell. Would that I could hear it.
What they did next... was sometimes better than what they did before. Have a feeling there's a lot of residual tension here i.e. Hersh/Donelly...
looks great ed !
