you know, i'd not mind having "strings of nashville" be the last song i ever hear, really. it's just so damn purdy and sad and beautiful...but we don't need to think about such matters just yet. pavement have the rare distinction of being (quite possibly) one of the only bands ever who never let me down; they just seemed to be completely unable to suck, as far as i'm concerned. (apart from "saginaw", the b-side of "give it a day", which i despise; and "carrot rope", which i thought was fucking AWFUL...still, 2 strikes in a ten-plus-year-career is a very nearly flawless track record, don't you think?)
