Comment:
Hello everyone! Lally here, semi-freshly relocated to Baltimore. Music still in boxes, but I was missing the whole mixing experience. So here's something of a trainwreck of a mix - fairly mellow with a couple o' rockers (including one I recorded just before leaving Pittsburgh). Some traditional faves and some bizarro curveballs. Also, I've been looking for an excuse to open and close a mix with calliope music - yes, it's maddening ... but in small doses it makes ya smile. The title semi-describes my summer - hectic move, broken foot, new job, new house, no air conditioning, no bands yet, new city ..... Well, let's see how this all works out, shall we? I hope you like the mix, and I hope you're all having a swell summer.
Feedback:
Doh! That's Hank Thompson doing "Let me call you sweetheart". Yeah!
Good to see you back on the boards, Sean. Some interesting stuff on here ... Trini Lopez, Chet & Les, the Kingston Trio ... LOVE that Townes Van Zandt track, I have two versions by him and one by Lyle Lovett.
hope everything is working out okay for you over there, & good luck - a smashing mix like this certainly couldn't hurt
I echo Mark's "welcome back" and enthusiasm for the Townes track. The rest looks pretty nifty, as well.
Looks great!
looks good for a return, Sean. I've been digging that Ramonetures album lately, too
Welcome back. Besides the Townes track, its nice to see Trini Lopez, The Smithereens, Dave Edmunds, Chet Atkins and Les Paul, Don Gibson, The Kingston Trio, Julie London, Connie Francis, Jorma Kaukonen,Tom Paxton and the piano player all show up on this mix.
Good to see you're still in one piece. Bon Chance re all the new changes and this looks like a top mix to grace the boards with again.
An excellent return to form! I concur with all below.
nice to have you back, looks fine
I love that Donna Fargo song, and would love to hear Chet and Les together. Looks altogether pretty interesting. Welcome back.
Good to see you mixin' again. Hoping the new digs have been good for you. Nice mix. Particularly like the Townes & Paxton picks.
This looks swingin' Sean! Trainwrecks can be fun, though a little hard on the hobos. Great to see you back here and I hope that everything works out okay in your new hood. But where's that less than glowing ode to Baltimore song that opens the newest version of Hairspray?
Baltimore will grow on you. (I hope.) Open them boxes! Moe knows hoboes.
I'm sure I haven't thought about that Donna Fargo song in about 30 years, but it sure reminds me of listening to AM radio.
Some gems here: Greenback Dollar, Caravan, Sea of Heartbreak (always a fave), Tom Dooley ... I could go on. Time for a new mix?
