Psychedelic Warlords
Comment:
A psychedelic warlord stands poised on the battlefield, loaded with speed, sword and axe at the ready, prepared to make the ultimate sacrifice for his way of life. The times are changing rapidly, the tribe has divided in many ways. some wandering barefoot, sniffing flowers. Some losing themselves in the pursuits of magic, still others resorting to outright barbarism. Will the Psychedelic Warlord survive?
Feedback:
I guess you have to navigate to the image gallery if you want to see the artwork.
Sounds like Ken Kesey fired up the bus and hit the road again.
As I read your comments (something I always do first b4 checking out a mix contents) I fully expected to see something from Argus on here and you didn't let me down Skipper - nice one.
This looks like an awesome collection.
I'll always have a soft spot for that JP opener. One of the first "my money" LP purchases and I couldn't explain why then nor now...FC knows his stuff on this. As do you: proven.
Never thought I'd see the day that Uriah Heep would show up on a Skipper mix. I guess I don't know you as well as I thought! Five stars and two devil horns for this one. Bet you created a great cover for this mix too.
Valis - Priest from this period is awesome, like most of these artists, stradling a point at the juncture of psych, prog, and metal.
Moe - sometimes you wanna just rock out with your...you know...yeah I did post some cool cover art, it didn't show up though, but was on the image gallery for a bit. There seems to be a bug at AotM, as all of my mix cover art seems to have disappeared.
Here's a little trivia before this mix exits the top 100. Can any body name the famous adult contemporary artist who was once a member of Attila ? How about the member of Dust who went on to fame as the drummer for one of the most well known punk bands ever.

Holy cow, this is amazing - and about as far as one can get from the amber firelight and steamy cushions of the Skipper Bartlett Bachelor Pad. my favorites here are Blue Cheer, Hawkwind, and the Dust/Bull Angus/Power of Zeus run, but it was my colleague who picked this out of my listening pile when he saw the incredible tracklist. the Psychedelic Warlord will live forever.
I can dig it bébé
Jesus. No, really--I think I just saw him rise over the battlefield...
I wanted to give this a listen before commenting, alas PC probs prevented me listening until today, and as Ms Orchid put it I can Dig It Too.. Faves were the Spooky Tooth, Jackal and Bull Angus choices...
Rohan, my Lord, is ready to fall. To WAR!

A great (HEAVY) take on the genre. I salute you.
I'm a bit late, but Billy Joel was once a member of Attila ( I only utilized Google to confirm that my answer was correct). As for Dust, their drummer later found fame with the Ramones (it was all Google on that one!) Keeping rocking out with your tongue out!
Ha Ha , you got it Moe. I guess I need to post the quiz's a little earlier to get more responses
That closer is fucking wicked. Cool mix.
This looks very fire/sweat/powerchord drenched - I take the call to arms... especially if the pic is a faithful rendition...
