Comment:
This is my new series, Redneck Deluxe, more white trash than euro trash. As you might guess (or not), this started out as some kind of Pizza Hippie Special, but I mainly just have been wanting to work Girlfriend (thanks to Vandeleyes for that) into some mix for quite some time now, so I just did it. I soon realized where I wanted to go with this beast, which is actually still expanding. Besides, those first tracks here act more as transation from my last two mixes. If y'all is ready, redden your neck here. There is a bonus with this first volume as well.Feedback:
Hey, the cover art facility is back! Does that mean all the old art lost is gone forever? That'd be terrible. Although I would move on.. The mix? Looks as good as ever my friend..
I am on the opposite end of the spectrum from redneck but I find lots to love on this.
slap me on a cowboy hat & let's get going - TOTALLY fantastic, i am geekin' out over this
Possum on a gum bush, this looks staggeringly good! Can't wait to give it a listen and get further in touch with my inner 'neck.
Naco y arrabalero, como siempre.
Doowad, this is a fine, fine, superfine compilation!!! Top shelf!
The mention of euro trash and rednecks in the same sentence brought back terrible, terrible flashbacks about the band Rednex. Damn this chain of associations. But that's the only complaint I have about this mix, really - looks great!
I just had the same flashback as Alex, that aside, this mix is absolutely brilliant.
Sorry about that bad flash guys, I never knew that group, but I was thinking more along the lines of Euro Trash girl by Cracker. The redneck part is really just me showing the core of my music collection, without some of the pretense of my last couple mixes (which I truly enjoy, but don't flow as naturally out of me as these tunes do). Some of this (Crosby/Chaplin/Billie) is really no more redneck than some of my 60s mixes were genuine wood hippie artifacts, but it all works in my mind, at least. Of course that is why I included Garden Party here on this first one because Mr. Nelson's chorus is the central pillar of my mixtape philosophy.
Top notch!
Woo, quirky and fun! Why did I think you were all about hip-hop? Too much good stuff to name-check, but it's nice to see Kinky on a country mix!
Perhaps you have me confused with my progeny. I think my redneck would turn blue if I left Kinky off!

Wow. Love how you expand on a theme to ridiculous degrees.
That Gordon Lightfoot tune is boss. Also love the Neil Young, Gram Parsons, and of course the Byrds.
