Comment:
CD 1 of a two CD set I recently compiled. This mix was a lot of fun to make--if anyone has suggestions for alternative songs, I'm happy to hear them.Feedback:
Looks like you got it, though I'm not sure how the songs flow into eachother. I'm sure there are some nice suprises (the Dylan/Waits/Wilson/Smith/New Order is an interesting combo for one, as is Cale/Who/Newman)
is 1917 the david olney song? if not check it out.
'1917' is an original by Fiery Furnaces--it's a pretty good song, off of a good album. I'll have to check out the David Olney one, though.
It was tough getting a good flow (Doesn't that usually happen with theme mixes, though), but it plays better than it looks. The only song that doesn't fit too well, IMO, is the Woody Guthrie song--I may cut it out, and put '1970' by The Stooges at the end instead.

Since you're not satisfied with the flow of the 1910's, perhaps you could see if "From 1910" by Norfolk & Western would work there? I think it might work okay before that Zombies track. Anyway, looks good! "Paris 1919" is one of my favourite songs (and albums) ever.
