Comment:

DISC #1:
Well, here's the first half of the second volume! And once again, things tend to be on the eclectic side (even if still squarely within the "rock" category). For example, I've got an ABBA song and a (Henry) Rollins Band song back-to-back...but they're both breakup songs, so they're natural companions! Also, I love the cognitive dissonance which would inevitably result from juxtaposing someone like Morrissey advocating burning down discos and hanging DJ's and someone like Ronnie Van Zant condemning handgun violence! Also, not to blow my own horn too loudly or anything, but I'm pretty darn proud of that closing sequence: A churning heavy-metal/prog thunderstorm from Anthrax, Mars Volta and Loudness (from Japan - remember them?), after which the clouds part and we're blessed with the glorious red sunset lullaby of a solo number from former Yes members followed by Perry Farrell and Jane's Addiction!

DISC #2:
The concluding second half of the second volume. I don't know if anyone other than me would be quite daft enough to sequence together songs by '90s Brit-rockers Suede, Seattle grunge purists Mudhoney, a solo number from '70s prog drum god Carl Palmer, a Police B-side, and a lovely solo ballad from Van Der Graaf Generator frontman Peter Hammill - but if I am the only one, it's a singular distinction that I wear with pride! Quite a few rarities here, including a Hanoi Rocks album title track which ended up not making the final cut of the album! In addition, there are quite a few items here which I do believe are now out of print, including an acoustic ballad by Jane's Addiction-spinoff Deconstruction, a punky raver from L.A. goth/punk/metal outfit The Nymphs (fronted by the fiery Inger Lorre), and also one from Denver-based Sub Pop recording artists The Fluid. Another pretty darn good pair of closing ballads as well, if I do say so myself!
