Comment:

Another Best of Mix. I'm usually against best of's because I believe in whole albums. But I just can't resist making them, especially if their is a twist. As far as STP goes, they were one of the first bands from the grunge era that I got into in 8th grade. The first concert I ever saw that same year was Smashing Pumpkins and Garbage. STP and Cheap Trick followed a few months after that. They put on a great show and I'll always have a love for their music. With time the music changes and hear their music differently now. I hear the Zeppelin and even Guns and Roses influences more then ever. Overall, they are talented songwriters, writing solid hard rock, tarnished power pop and soft psychedelic beauties. Most importantly, I decided to only include their last three studio albums. Most people know their first two albums "Core" and "Purple". I wanted to highlight their lesser known material. PS. I have yet to hear Velvet Revolver and does anyone remember Talk Show?

I really didn't have much respect for STP, I always put them in the box with groups like Nickel back (corporate pseudo-grunge, whatever that means), but actually Velvet Revolver brings a new level of respect to Weiland (and those other clowns too). I highly recommend them to you. If a non-STP fan like me can enjoy them, you will love it. I always preferred Izzy to Slash too, but Slash also shines in VR.

Pretty good list, but in my humble opinion you should have included "Glide" from "No. 4." Such a beautiful song, and I actually put it on one of my mix discs (unlisted here as of yet!)
