Comment:

The redneck series takes on the Nacoville Sound (naco in the gringo sense, not the paisano sense, eh Victor?).
Not all of it follows the same path, but a very wise man once said not to expect anything in this life to be consistent, least of all mixtapes.
Thanks to RetroJoe for the Little Green Apples inspiration.

There are tons of great songs here, most of which are not cheesy at all. "He Stopped Loving Her Today" and Gram's version of "Love Hurts" are two of my all-time favorite tunes by anyone, and "Delta Dawn" (at least by Tanya Tucker and not Helen Reddy), "Galveston," the Patsy Cline songs, "A Better Man," "Losing My Touch," "I Forgot More Than You'll Ever Know," Elvis' "Always on My Mind," "Blue Skies"... etc., etc. ... are all great.

Tom, Rhinestone Cowboy was one of the last to keep and for purely sentimental reasons. It brings me right back to playing table shuffleboard as a youngun' at Pantera's Pizza. I agree it is the schlockiest of Glen's hits (hence the nature of the mix). And the others, well, that was to bridge from Bob to the Butlers. I'll be returning to more gutbucket country in future edititions. This started as a way to work Always on my mind, I can't stop loving you, Some memories just won't die and I've forgot more than you'll ever know into the redneck series.
