Comment:
Obviously, I could have made a 10 CD series about each of these `themes', but these were the standout tunes. And I know the CDs are set up "Drivin' & Drinkin'" but it just don't have the same ring, do it? Anyway, Bruce and Bob had to kick it off, and then it hadn't started out as a DUI mix, but it seemed like I kept grouping the tunes, these two streams of thought emerged subconsciously *wink, wink, nudge, nudge*. And Roger's classic always acted as the bridge.Convoy (mmmm.Ali McGraw) is placed here for the same sentimental reason as Rhinestone Cowboy in the previous mix.
Posdata: Freight Train Blues is dedicated to you, Victor.
Posdata dos: doowadette
suggested I change the font since it looked like 'drinkin' & dribin' in the old English font.
Posdata tres: An AOTM faux pas, thanks to Funky Ratchet for the Bloody Mary Morning.

Spot on! This is fantastic, front to back.

Aaaah, a soundtrack for those of us who remember when drunk driving was a sport, before it becasme a crime. Well mixed sir!

                                    wonderful!

They certainly stand out for me.

It's not big & it certainly ain't clever but Friday nights find me hitting the back roads home from the bar. In 5 years I've yet to encounter another vehicle (mind you probably wouldn't on the main roads either cos I live in middle o' nowhere)Stray cows and ditches are my biggest fear. It's when the Mrs. says, "You didn't drive home in that state did you?" Followed by my inevitable reply, " Course I did, I'm far too drunk to walk." - Then I know it's been a good night. As for the music, as ever quality tunes here mon ami.

What a fantastic road trip soundtrack!!!! Awesome.

great material for a mix . . . I'm intrigued as to the mildly de-hippified Canned Heat, however. What have you done to The Bear ?Never been drinking and driving myself of course . . . .

                                    A classic collection here.
