Your Last Week Alive...in Polaroids
Comment:
A digest of everything that has imprinted itself on my skull over the past couple of months, by the time I had the playlist finalised (that took 11 different versions over about a week or so, with a handful of songs not making the final cut), it felt like I had something special here and I wanted to go that little bit further in creating a concept around it. I normally don't break the "1 songs by 1 artist" rule, but I wanted to not only have an exception in this case, but make a point of it - because the doubles here represent significant influences on me this year [and, technically, none of those tracks are on albums anyway!]Hope you'll give it a try and enjoy it...
Feedback:
What rules? sod the rules as this mix proves, if it feels good then it works. Nice one.

i really like this. especially the beirut, grizzly bear and final fantasy tracks.
This looks very interesting. I'm looking forward to downloading it...and the polaroids are beautiful, even though I didn't notice the ones that weren't of a spectacular breast for several minutes...
I've been enjoying this mix since I downloaded it last Thursday. I didn't know a song on it then...but do now.
Some standouts, for me, are Devendra Banhart, Dr. Dog, Grizzly Bear's 'Blackcurrant Jam', Final Fantasy's 'The C.N. Tower', David Lynch, Akron/Family, Can, Creation and Rogue Wave tracks.

Thank you! That's really great to hear. Makes it all worthwhile!
i'm gonna download this right now, although i recognize most of the artists, i'm not familiar with any of these songs, and i'm sure i'll be pleasantly surprised.
basically the only things my friends listen to are Deerhunter and the Black Lips, so judging by your shared taste, you might wanna check out Wooden Shjips, the Spits, Shocking Pinks, and Atlas Sound (the side project of the guy from Deerhunter).

A strong mix from start to finish. Terrific cover art as well..
