Comment:
A few months ago, me and Kirk sat down at the computer with a few whiskey cokes down the gullet. Somehow a Jane's Addiction Vs. Yes conversation got kicked off and so did this mix. But Yes is a little tricky to work onto mixes, no? Tends to hog the show. So a little editing software magic, and here we have: YESSPURTS! A somewhat questionable endeavor, but what is AOTM for if not questionable endeavors?Feedback:
Ha, ha. Considering you can put 1 song by Yes on a cd and not have room for anymore, yeah , they do kind of hog the show. There, I've given away my idea for an April fools day mix. This is great , by the way. Awesome idea.
Now this is a pretty interesting mix! I like your choices of Yes and Jane's Addiction songs (two of MY favorite bands)!
whenever someone asks, "Jane's Addiction?" my answer is always the same: "Yes!" ok, that attempt at humor doesn't seem as funny now that it's all been typed out, but what is AOTM for if not questionable endeavors? haven't actually heard as much Yes or Jane's Addiction as one should in life, so hope there's a way to listen to this soon... looks terrific. and I'm super glad you're back Blasi. you too, Masthokirk.
lots of cool tunes here
Sounds like an interesting combination. I have never been more than a neutral listener of either, but it would be nice to hear if the download were available.
Great concept. Way to go guys.
This is certainly intriguing. I actually don't have much of a problem with the music of Jane's Addiction or early Yes (with the possible excpetion of Rick Wakeman's keyboard washes and the occasional Jon Anderson vocal).
I soooo love this. Kudos!!!!!
clever . . . .
Actually a fan of bith but never thought of them together. Well mixed sirs.
Interesting collabertation. Ten and 13 are great.
Yes, interesting seems to be the popular phrase associated with this mix. GREAT to see you back on the boards, Mike. Now where's that link we're all so desperately craving?
loved the King's Singers/Jane's Addiction pair at 5&6, and the Donald Byrd->Roxy Music set... and the Yes tune to wrap everything up. real nice, keep 'em coming!
I love this sort of thing. bravo
Ideastorm of a mix here!
