A little tribute to my friends in the old barrio. A little something to blast in the lowrider on the way to the Dfa De Los Muertos celebrations. The idea started as a Chicano rock and funk mix but I really had to use that Orchestra Harlow track as an opener and I don't think Larry Harlow is even latin but he is certainly recognized in the community and his band here is from Cuba. Bwana are from Colombia, Nico Gomez representing the Spanish Brazilians, and Bossa 70 from Peru. Goce, Mis Amigos !Feedback:
Looks terrific Skipper...downloading now. I'll pop it in the player just as soon as I readjust the air shocks!
Mexican-Americans don't like to just get into gang fights
They like flowers and music and white girls named Debbie too
Mexican-Americans are named Chata and Chella
and Chema and have a son-in-law named Jeff
Mexican-Americans don't like to get up early in the morning
but they have to so they do it real slow
Mexican-Americans love education so they go to night school
and they take spanish and they get a B
Mexican-Americans love their nana's and their no-no's
and their Nina's and their Nino's, Na Na Ni Ni Na No No
Mexican-Americans don't like to go to movies
where the dude has to wear contact lenses
to make his blue eyes brown 'cause don't it make my brown eyes blue

Know three of the final four, anxious to be educated.
Awesome. Not one, but two mixes to spin on Thursday! This, too, looks tremendous.
Can't say I know any of this, but I'm excited to hear this.
Well, I love "Cisco Kid," like the Bobo, can't recall if I'm familiar with/like the Santana track (chances are that if it's on one of the first three albums, I think it's pretty good; after that, probably a slim chance), and am sad to say that I have zero knowledge of the rest.
you've done it again, Skipper. Macondo, Nico Gomez, Bossa 70, War and El Chicano songs were highlights, but the whole thing was pretty shiny. I've got that Willie Bobo LP and it's a scorcher. remind me to never go record-hunting with you. pretty sure we'd end up in a tug-o-war, followed by a fist-fight and then there'd be some tire slashings too.
Just wait til fellow Gangster Mr Blasi sees this, he'll be jumping for joy. Me? Well, there's a hole in my ceiling as I listen...
Nice one. Love the Malo, Azteca, Mandrill, War, Willie Bobo, & Santana cuts.
El Skipper, this is gorgeous. I'm gonna pump this in my lowrider Subaru and cruise down Figueroa.
I'm sorry to be so late to the party ! Looks excellent fun.
