Comment:

A little tribute to my friends in the old barrio. A little something to blast in the lowrider on the way to the Dfa De Los Muertos celebrations. The idea started as a Chicano rock and funk mix but I really had to use that Orchestra Harlow track as an opener and I don't think Larry Harlow is even latin but he is certainly recognized in the community and his band here is from Cuba. Bwana are from Colombia, Nico Gomez representing the Spanish Brazilians, and Bossa 70 from Peru. Goce, Mis Amigos !

Awesome. Not one, but two mixes to spin on Thursday! This, too, looks tremendous.

Well, I love "Cisco Kid," like the Bobo, can't recall if I'm familiar with/like the Santana track (chances are that if it's on one of the first three albums, I think it's pretty good; after that, probably a slim chance), and am sad to say that I have zero knowledge of the rest.

you've done it again, Skipper. Macondo, Nico Gomez, Bossa 70, War and El Chicano songs were highlights, but the whole thing was pretty shiny. I've got that Willie Bobo LP and it's a scorcher. remind me to never go record-hunting with you. pretty sure we'd end up in a tug-o-war, followed by a fist-fight and then there'd be some tire slashings too.
