Comment:

It's been so long since I've made a mix on a cassette tape, that I'd forgotten all the joys and difficulties. There's nothing like realizing that song you really wanted to close out side A gets clipped 15 seconds before it finishes. This mix is kinda all over the map genre-wise, but I've never been good at keeping still and I'd rather have songs I like that don't quite fit than songs I don't really like that fit. The title is from the Bebe song and means 'The Soft Voice of the Sea'. Listen.

Yeah, don't you just HATE it when the songs you want don't fit within the running time! I totally identify with that 100% And as far as being "all over the map," well, I can relate to that as well! :)

Very nice, from Donovan to Gene Pitney to Marc Bolan and then Bebe and She Bop on side 2, being a true cassette, we can assume there will be no download forthcoming?

Both sides are fantastic. And yeah, I feel your pain on not having enough space to close out a side..

For me, there's nothing better than a mix on cassette, especially if you're giving it to someone. It shows real commitment and care. The downside, though, is that many people no longer have tape players to listen to the mixes you give them.

That said, this looks spectacular! I'm especially loving The Jam, Gene Pitney, TV on the Radio and Sly.

mmm...what a delectable, ethereal, joyous selection. I am very much enjoying the sonorous effects of these particular tasty cuts against my aural organs. Well dun huggy.
