Comment:

I'm not what you'd call a die-hard fan of this band, but they definitely have some strong moments spread across the past decade's slew of releases. For those not on the Gomez bandwagon, they come across like a blend of jam-band guitar-driven eclecticism, folkie Americana, indie pop, and a smattering of electronic experimentalism. At their best, they sound like a bit of a mix of the Allman Brothers, Phish, and Wilco. I have a few holes in my collection, so this isn't exactly definitive, but I think I've hit the highlights, catching their more mainstream, catchy moments and sidestepping the "maybe it works better live" weirdness.

good mix, except I would've included more from "Bring It On", as it happens to be my favorite Gomez album :) That means I would've included "Get Myself Arrested" hehehe.

A band I've recently gotten into myself, having picked up "Five Men In A Hut" as well as some recordings of live shows. This looks like a pretty good intro.

Like you said... not a die-hard fan but have enjoyed their music over the years. This looks like a good mix of what they do.

I really, really detest this band, my friend. I'm sorry to say it, but I had to.

Nice band. Cute even. Not a big fan, though.

Never understood their appeal. I think they won the Mercury music prize (but then so did the Klaxons) and then declined; or maybe they were ignored. Are they still going?

Make no sound !!A really, really excellent but hugely underated band IMHO. A stoners band by anybodys account. Probably, if you don't get Gomez, you are not a stoner - simple as !!
