It's a particularly cold Novembers day today, so happily for me I'm posting this mix which I finished a couple of nights ago. The perfect antidote to the impending winter blues - A mix of Sunny Brazilian Pop! Borrowing two tracks I'd previously used on Mixes with Moe ( Djavan ) and Les Beat Girls ( Valle ), the rest is ready to get your toes a tappin and your hips a shakin'... Finding it hard to lose the image of Shakira shaking her hips even though she's Colombian. I have to plead ignorance on most of this though a few names are familiar.
I know the Caetano Veloso and Os Mutantes tracks only, but I'm sure this is damned cool.

Nice to see Ronnie Von getting some love. I've always thought brazilian (and reggae, for that matter) sounds best in winter, though it seems like a contradiction. Lovely mix.
Brazo!! Looks like a fantastic collection of fine tunes from a country that has produced so many worthy artists. My only quibble is that Quarteto Em Cy didn't make the cut, but I'm happy that Umas & Outras (another all-female outfit) are representin' :) Might have to whip up something to trade for this!
sorry, I'm late to this . . . . sorry I cannot get the photo either ! Not much I know here (Os Mutantes, obviously) . . . . but I do love this type of vibe/mix . . . especially on chilly winters days (it was down to 33 degrees Centigrade yesterday) . . . brrr !
that is indeed a lovely picture - and re Orchid's comment, I was just thinking today while listening that it's strange for Brazilian music to be such a perfect fit for a cold, rainy afternoon. this was even better than I'd hoped, with the only disappointment being that the Tom ZT track wasn't a Brazilian cover of Laura Branigan. favorites: Djavan, Gal Costa, Joao Roberto Esteves Kelly, the final 3 on the mix are superb, the Alcione is a nice little ditty... best of all is that crazy Umas & Outras number. well done!
