Comment:

Well, here's another "reformatted" version of two earlier CD mix posts. And here are my original comments, in all their solipsistic glory (ha, ha, ha!): [QUOTE] "Man oh man, have I been on a roll or have I been on a roll?? On Halloween night, I started work on Mix #28, pretty much having everything all worked out in my head as to what was going to go in the mix. But when I was done with that, I started coming up with a lot of songs that wouldn't make the cut, or just wouldn't fit. So immediately after finishing those two discs, I started on the next disc, not thinking I would finish it that night. But I swear, it was like the thing was compiling itself! I just kept coming up with song after song and it all seemed to gel together rather nicely! Pretty soon, I had Mix #29 all wrapped up. As with certain of my previous mix discs which originated in similar circumstances, the first couple of tracks on Disc #1 represent a kind of mop-up job of what didn't make the cut last time around. But as usual, my flair for coming up with dynamite closing sequences really came to the fore. I mean, I swear I had no idea that I would en-d up with a sequence of songs by Thin Lizzy, Van Halen and GN'R at the en-d of Disc #1. I mean, that's what I would almost call TOO perfect! Not much for me to say about Disc #2, beyond the fact that it came together fairly well considering I had almost no idea how it would go beyond the first four tracks! By the way, 'Can't Kick' (performed by Steve Dior and Filthy Lucre) on the last disc and 'Children Are People Too' (performed by Wayne Kramer) on this disc were both written by the late Johnny Thunders, and both come from a various artists tribute album called 'I Only Wrote This Song For You.'" I have a soft spot for the odd Manics song for which Kathryn lambasts me. A Design For Life is one.
