Comment:
I've always really enjoyed the soundtracks to Tarantino's films, and I'd been wanting to put together a mix of my favorite tracks for a long time. For me, the majority of these songs have become inextricably associated with the scene they occurred in.There's so many songs I left off of this mix! Maybe Vol. 2 is in order...
Originally, I had put in some sound clips from the films, but I thought they interrupted the flow a bit, so I left them out. I'm also kicking around the idea of a mix with a ton of pop culture references in the form of sound clips that somehow (I don't know how I'll achieve it) fit in with the music. We'll just see where it goes, I guess!
Feedback:
Very good, but to end it with anything but Maleguena Salerosa is a crime.
You know, I was kinda saving that for the second disc. I always thought that song did give great closure to Kill Bill.
I always thought it would be a way cool idea for someone to do a Quentin Tarantino best-of compilation! In fact, the only reason I haven't done so myself is that at present I only have the "Pulp Fiction" and "Death Proof" discs. I will just say, however, that I have included Tracks #5, 7, 8, 13 & 14 on past mix discs. A pretty solid lineup, I've got to say, and I can hardly wait for Volume 2!!
Frankly, and with all due respect, the best part of a QT flick is his undeniable genius for tagging Just The Right Song for Just The Right Moment. I loved the Dick Dale cut for Pulp Fiction. (Miserlou? I forget the spelling)
