Comment:
Yes, I remember what I said last time. Last time, I said I was going to reformat MIX #28, after which I would do this one. But as luck would have it, I recently compiled a brand spanking new mix, which I would also like to post today. And both #27 and #28 are my Halloween mixes, and I would prefer to reformat them on the same day. So I'll wait for #27 and #28, and do #5 and my brand new one (#42) today!Anyway, here are my original comments:
"Well, Disc #2 of MIX #4 was admittedly a tad shaky overall, in terms of the flow of the songs. But here I'm definitely back in form. The sequence of the o-pening five songs and the sequence of the closing five songs were very much worked out in advance. We start out with three powerful rockers, take time out for a pair of ballads, keep a nice mix of things going for a while...and then when we get to the final five (or even six), the proceedings just get more and more intense, until the Doors close out the first half with one of their lesser known - and more eccentric - epics!
I feel that Disc #2 starts out strong (say from the first six or seven numbers) and then gets perhaps a tad uneven in the middle, but I think the closing sequence of four is pretty effective. (Although once again, I indulged my LOTR: ROTK Syndrome, stacking multiple en-dings like I did with the Disc #2 of MIX #4!)"
Feedback:
A sizzling start to side 2 and JD, R.Stones, Beatles, VU and Who are my other picks.
By the way, I know for sure that tornadoZ is going to find one or two selections here very familiar - because they made the cut on our little "Demon vs. Disaster" collaboration! ;-)
