A thematic mix I made about a year ago, when a friend and I made mixes for each other with the same theme (which was, of course, Winter of Souls). The tracks are broken up into four group of twelve, each group representing Earth, Purgatory, Heaven, and Hell respectively. That's where the Souls part comes from. The Winter part comes in the fact that these tracks, which are mostly of the drone variety, just sound cold and bleak to me, and that's sort of how I feel about winter sometimes. As much as I love Minnesota winters, they get pretty damn long and cold. It picks up a bit towards the end, though.

Also, I've used a lot of stuff put out under the Creative Commons license, so I feel I should link back to those particular artists. The Archive, UPC, and ANGELswing are all put out on the Dark Winter netlabel, which I absolutely adore. Archive also was on Wandering Ear, but apparently not anymore. Bolander is on the TZP Drone Co. netlabel. Remora is on Silber Records. @c is on Silence is Not Empty. Finally, Irkalla, while they don't have anything out on a Creative Commons license, happens to be a friend's band.
