Comment:
This is a reformatting of the second of my so-called "Halloween Mixes." Overall, I would have to say that the song se-lection on this mix is even less particularly "Halloween" than that of Mix #27. But still, following in the tradition of its predecessor, we kickstart the show with a horror movie theme: On that disc, we began with Goblin's theme from Dario Argento's "Suspiria," appropriately followed by Rob Zombie's "American Witch," and this time around, we be-gin with the Main Titles for Robert Rodgriguez's "Grindhouse: Planet Terror," composed by the man himself! And I suppose Lennon's moans and screams toward the en-d of "Cold Turkey" are bloodcurdling enough to qualify as sufficiently seasonal! Also, I was always kind of on the fence about sequencing Robin Trower's "Bridge Of Sighs" together with Soundgarden's "Tighter And Tighter" - I was always struck by how both songs had a kind of heavy, sinister, intense vibe about them, but I wasn't really all that sure whether or they would work effectively back to back, or if it would just en-d up seeming repetitive. But I personally think that the sequence works quite effectively. What do you think??Feedback:
while the spooky music theme is always cool, some of the artist (my chemical romance?) and song (vertigo?!) selections are dodgy. it seems like you put a lot of thought into this, though, so i can at least appreciate that.
