Comment:

This is a reformatting of the second of my so-called "Halloween Mixes." Overall, I would have to say that the song se-lection on this mix is even less particularly "Halloween" than that of Mix #27. But still, following in the tradition of its predecessor, we kickstart the show with a horror movie theme: On that disc, we began with Goblin's theme from Dario Argento's "Suspiria," appropriately followed by Rob Zombie's "American Witch," and this time around, we be-gin with the Main Titles for Robert Rodgriguez's "Grindhouse: Planet Terror," composed by the man himself! And I suppose Lennon's moans and screams toward the en-d of "Cold Turkey" are bloodcurdling enough to qualify as sufficiently seasonal! Also, I was always kind of on the fence about sequencing Robin Trower's "Bridge Of Sighs" together with Soundgarden's "Tighter And Tighter" - I was always struck by how both songs had a kind of heavy, sinister, intense vibe about them, but I wasn't really all that sure whether or they would work effectively back to back, or if it would just en-d up seeming repetitive. But I personally think that the sequence works quite effectively. What do you think??

while the spooky music theme is always cool, some of the artist (my chemical romance?) and song (vertigo?!) selections are dodgy. it seems like you put a lot of thought into this, though, so i can at least appreciate that.
