Comment:

Disclosure: I feel gross editing The Magnetic Fields' 69 Love Songs. If you have never heard it, please go out and purchase/steal it. A fantastic album that needs not to be touched. But I touched it anyways. I couldn't help thinking what it would be like if I was some producer or member of the band who wanted to make a more concise, stripped-down album. I always read about bands coming into the studio to record a new album with 100 new songs, and editing down to 10 or something. This was my chance to be a part of that. First I took my fav. 27 songs and then from those, I tried to make a album that sounded more epic, tight and made for your average Starbucks casual music listener (I could see them doing something like this). Have this with your muffin and tea. I'm sorry Magnetic Fields. I didn't want to hurt you. It's me, not you.

A fine distillation. This must have been somewhat difficult as there are a number of fine numbers throughout that box. This always brings back fine memories as it was purchased for me as a Valentine's Day Gift.

I was surprised when I read through them that none of my favorites from that album (and there are many) made it onto your mix. ... does that mean I have bad taste or you have bad taste? I think maybe it's me. 'I didn't want to hurt you. It's me, not you.'

Well done! There are a few that are a bit kinky, for my taste, but the quality is top-notch. Although I have not heard all 69, the ones you selected sure made an excellent listen. I am saussure about that. Thanks for creating this digested version.
