Comment:

Well, once again, Merry Christmas and/or Happy Holidays, everybody! I had just enough money left after finishing my Christmas shopping to buy myself a new 25-pack of Sony CD-R's, and now here's a mix with a couple more tunes for the holiday season (you can probably guess which ones). But wait a minute! Horror of horrors! What's THIS?! Multiple and flagrant rule violations galore!: FOUR songs from Pink Floyd, TWO from Soundgarden, and TWO from Metallica! What gives?! Well...in all honesty, I can offer no real defense, but I think that my radical ben-ding of the "no two songs by the same artist in the same mix" rule is justified in this particular case. I mean, after all, Pink Floyd "Another Brick In The Wall" is basically one big medley, and Soundgarden's "665-667" (from their 1988 "Ultramega OK") is basically one jokey satanic parody split into two tracks, and I think that just this once it's perfectly accept-able to put both of Metallica's "Unforgiven"s on the same mix. My basic premise here was to have the closing sequences of Discs #1 and #2 mirror or reflect each other, and on those grounds, I think I get off the hook! (You may also notice that here we have the greatest disparity in terms of the number of tracks on both discs.) Also, just as a trivial aside, perhaps KathrynandRupert can guess how the artists of Tracks #10 & 11 on Disc #2 are connected! Anyway...I've actually got another mix cooking in my head right now, and I've got almost three-fourths of it figured out. And that's half the battle, even before anything is committed to plastic! Have a safe and happy holiday season, everybody! :-)

Wee-ow. That My Chemical Romance song really fits in with all the Floyd. This is so epic, I might just make this myself...

Three Floyd tracks in a row! I never venture past Animals with Floyd. How weird but I was only listening to Mr.Pharmacist by the Other Half yesterday. Of course the Fall covered it and even managed to drug it into the English charts (ok,one week at no.75). Merry xmas.
