Comment:

Well, here's another batch for the holidays...and you didn't even have to ask! :-) I pretty much used up all the Christmas songs in my collection already, so there's no holiday motif. There are a few artists making their Pazuzu Mix debuts here, specifically Alice Cooper and Syd Barrett. Why have I not used any of their tracks on any of my previous 44 mixes (88 discs)? Well...I guess I just didn't get around to it until now! There have been quite a few artists and bands that I've never gotten around to using until my more recent mixes. Also included is a track from Poison, whom I've always had a soft spot for (albeit against my better judgment!). The Poison track I used is "Stand," from the short-lived early '90s period with Ritchie Kotzen on guitar, and you'd be shocked at how cozily it fits in sequence between Patti Smith and the Stones! [*wink*] Elsewhere, it's my own unique madcap eclecticism as per usual: We've got a piano instrumental from a Brian De Palma thriller, an raging, industrial-tinged scorcher from late-'90s W.A.S.P., a Van Der Graaf B-side, a catchy little number from Hanoi Rocks' comeback disc, prog titans ELP showing off their zany side with a jazzy big-band showtune-style number from the "Works" era, and an absolutely facepeeling rock-and-roll hallelujah testimonial from the one and only Slade kicking off the second half! Bringing the whole shebang to a close is a stirring power-ballad from the Darkness, whose utterly hilarious double-enten-dre lyrics don't prevent it from tugging a heartstring or two...

Lots of solid tracks. I just used the System Of A Down song myself, and a different WASP track. The Doors tune is a good choice as well. Nice work.

Clash, Barrett and Beatles I'm enthusing over on this one.

Rockin' mix, D.P. Grandma always insists we play that W.A.S.P. song on Christmas Eve -- and of course we have to indulge her, as she gets pretty feisty if we don't. Maybe we should stop feeding her eggnog.

Hey, Moe! I'd be most interested in meeting your grandmother. She sounds like she totally rocks! ;-)
