Comment:
I'd like to dedicate this mix to my soul partner...Inspired by the PBS airing of the Johnny Cash Show.Posdata: gracias a Jeff por la primera pista y a Victor por el tftulo.
Feedback:
I have never enjoyed Kinky Friedman's music, though I love his books, Lots of great tracks on this.
This is fantastic, good sir. It could be my favorite mix of yours. I'm with Terry re: Kinky's music (although I *want* to like it), and I like his persona but can't say I've actually read one of his books.
I, on the other hand, love Kinky's music, especially the two included here. Poncho & Lefty, '52 Vincent and 7 Spanish Angels are also all-time favs.
I like how your musical friends get together to sing and pass songs around. i am on the pro kinky song side and on my way to the library to check out his books.
Oh, where to begin? Love the Nelson/Haggard and the Waylon track in particular, but there's so many other great selections here too. I enjoy all of the Highwaymen's individual work, but I've always had a little trouble getting into their stuff as group...the above song being the exception though. And to throw in my two cents on Kinky - mixed enthusiasm for a lot of his songs, but he sure had a knack for naming 'em...
100% quality.
Oh, boy oh boy oh boy! Too much good stuff here to comment on, so all I can really say is Bravo! As for Kinky - he's smart, clever, and funny, and that's enough for me.
& I've never even heard of Monsieur Kinky? Likin' disc 2 especially. tho did you mean to put Keith Richards up there twice?
i am drooling just looking at the tracklisting - i can hardly compile my thoughts - so many absolutely favorites here, i can't wait to give it a spin
Lou Dobbs dice que hay que acabar con las descargas ilegales que lastiman a la clase obrera estadounidense.
Another work of mixing genius...
Meu Deus! You're consistency is something! This has heaps of jems in that sprawling yet cohesive way. Love the Johnny doing Kris into Kris again, Woody, Hank, Towns and Flying Burritos the mostest.
I could just "rock-on" to this. Fucking classic my friend.
Very dusty, incredibly cool. I would like to sit in a offloaded cargo unit hearing this bounce off the exterior steel smiling at the opened door, trembling at what lies beyond the coyotes and deer.
This file cannot download sufficiently fast. WOW!
Hate to crib from Rodgers and Hammerstein, but these are a few of my favorite things. Great compilation! A John Hartford tune and it would be sheer perfection. :D
No hatin' on Country Honk era Keef.
