Minimalist ambient & found-sound structures/compositions...for frost-streaked winter evenings (but not necessarily beside the fireplace). The recent turn of frigid weather made it the right time to post the mix. I nearly categorized this one as `Experimental'...very borderline-ish from top to tail (and be careful not to get lost within the drones...).

Track 10, meant to pull you back from out the ether-haze, continues playing after 2 brief, purposeful, gaps of silence by the composer, into Track 11 (an atmospheric radio transmission from Saturn via the

Cassini Saturn space mission) and finally, a `hidden' track. Happy 2008!

Ahhhh....something to make the winter months bearable. That and doowad stole my other comment while I was logging in. Great looking mix, Gene.

To me, the collection conjures up a glacier-like atmosphere, with the tracks
gently floating into each other. At the end, the more lively sounds give a
feeling of the sounds of the real world re-entering one's consciousness,
akin to waking up from a drone-filled sleep... ah, I see, as so often, words
cannot do the music justice (I am a follower of Schopenhauer here).

Of course, as an Eno fan, I liked the live version of 2/2 very much. The
Milieu track is also excellent.

Very effective Gene. I had to make a hot cup of tea half-way through the mix.
