Comment:

Hi Everyone. I'm back, and kicking off 2008 with not one, but two mixes. Hooray. And being the considerate chap that I am, decided to post them both on the same page, therefore only pushing one mix off the board. Hooray.
Mix One - Future Dream, is a collection of stuff I've been listening to over Christmas and New Year. Tracks from some of my favourite albums of '07 ( Grand Atlantic, Yeasayer, Vandervelde ) mixed in with some old favourites ( MBV, Undertones, Jam )..
Mix Two - Paris Blues, follows exactly the same formula. Hey, if it aint broke...
Tunes galore to be found, then. Listen and love, y'all. Oh, and Happy New Year Mixers, let's ALL be friends in '08 eh?...

can't think of any better way to spend the first few weeks of 2008 than with a sammyg double-feature. Hooray. hope the new year has gotten off to a slam-bang start for ya chum, and I'll be back with my musical reviews very soon!

As Aaron Neville annoyingly sang over and over, don't know much, but I'm cleaning the wax out of my ears for this one...

This looks really good, though I think I'm leaning toward Future Dream as the better half. Still, I do love that closer on Paris Dream, and it's been a long time since I listened to some Lemonheads...

Hot damm, two of my ALL-TIME favorite tracks, the new Grand Atlantic "Peace Be With You" track and the old Ohio Express track, "Down At Lulu's". I know what I am listening to this afternoon. Thanks Sam.

It's one of my new years resolutions to not comment on downloadable mixes until I've had time to listen to them. Oh tits hang on this is a comment? Where's me fags? I'll be back... ;)

alex articulated it far better than i can - no better way to kick off a new year than with double the fun of a sammy mix. looks beautiful - lots of favorites here.

Oh man, what a great way to start the new year. So much great stuff here. A couple of things here I've been listening to a lot the past week... Pillbugs & Field Music. Lots to check out too.

These both look great to me, although I don't expect anything but greatness from you, Samuel. Happy new year to you, as well (surely I've said this to you by now, right?).

We nearly bought the Lacrosse LP in Rough Trade today but we hadn't heard it until we went to their MySpace page. Now we MUST own it. Utterly stupendous mix......Radar Brothers, XTC, Luna, MBV, Alma Cogan, Hit Parade.......and enjoyed the two CD's you sent very much.

A double dose of the Sam man! Can't pick a favorite between the two, as both have their fair share of gems (i.e. that Grand Atlantic song, which I discovered too late for Pet Soundalikes 9)-- as well as songs I don't know that will eventually be favorites :) Beautiful cover art too.

Wow, I love this two-for-one deal. It should become your staple. Anyway, only got around to listen to the first disc, which I think is great. That opener is awesome as is that Yeasayer and MBV tracks. I'm hoping MBV come to North America in the summer.

very nice; listened to most of this at work, but then took it home after a hectic week to hear the last half of PARIS BLUES there. it winds down in such a beautiful way, it was just what I needed to soothe me on a Friday night. now. favorites on F.D. are Pram/Josh Rouse pair, Magnus, then the Ex Otago/Lovekevins/Psychid run and the Alma Cogan/Imperial Teen/Jam trio. that Imperial Teen song is so catchy I was singing along though I'd never heard it before. P.B. hi-lites were Pepe Deluxe, The Bishops, Barry Lous Polisar and the two there at the end, which were especially nice from, as I said, a very nice last half-hour or so. thanks for sharing all this music, Sam.

Great concept great execution Sam. So much great stuff but my pick is that MBV song which I haven't heard for ages...
