Comment:

73m48s. Many thanks to fyfas for introducing me to the Jenny Lewis track,
and lo-fi jr on the Black Mountain track.

I made a few copies of this mix and sent them to relatives in December.
Reaction was nil. Or so it seemed until 4 weeks later, when in comes a note from
my cousin
reporting that he enjoyed the mix,
and that he was trying to interest my niece in it, because
she has been driving him nuts playing Mariah Carey and Clay Aiken.
So, it was all worthwhile.

According to the calendar, this week begins the second decade of Art of The Mix!
For fun,
check out
Mix #1, posted January 22, 1998.
(It didn't get a comment until 5 years later, so I guess there is always
hope.)
Congratulations to everyone who makes this such a wonderful community.
And special thanks to
Jim for steering the ship!

Hmmm. like The Cure, Mojave 3, X, Architecture In Helsinki... but quite a few here I don't know. may have to hear this one too, my friend. happy to be a part of AotM as it moves into its second decade. hope we'll both be posting new stuff here until we're as old as Leo Ornstein.

I second Alex's thoughts for the future. It looks like 2007 made for some nice additions to the crowd. I have to plead ignorance on a lot of this, but what I know (Cure, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Apples in Stereo, Black Mountain) and what I know of the mixer tells me this is top notch.

some nice additions this past year for sure, & this is no different - glad to see you posting around these parts - tracks 8 & 19 are favorites, but most of this is foreign to me as well - i'm with derek, your track record tells me this is some great stuff waiting to be discovered

Here's hoping we'll all still be submitting mixes as good as this after another decade has passed.
Have to agree with Terry re the final 3 cuts.

This looks really good, particularly the X and Black Mountain classics. I had no idea that I joined this site three years to the day after it began...

X, I loved their punkabilly sound back in the day and I still do. Great to see the Long Blondes on here, reminds me how many times I've failed to win their first single on ebay. I have to check out what I don't know on here (too much).

I don't know why I didn't buy that Cure double album when it first came out. I think I love it! also dug the X, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Majave 3 tunes you have here - but a solid mix throughout!

Lewis and company really did a nice job with that cover. Like the Apples inclusion too.
