Comment:

Half of these songs have been used as background music during Obama's large campaign meetings with his supporters (tracks 1, 2, 4, 5, 8, 10, 11 & 14). The rest are by artists that Obama has said he likes (either in interviews or on his facebook page; Hillary hasn't been as open about her musical tastes). Track 9 has an association with the group Outkast (who Barack has stated that he thinks that they do a lot of interesting work). Some artists/groups not used that he showed an interest in are Bob Dylan, Miles Davis, and the Fugees. After winning in Iowa, the song 99 Problems by Jay-Z played at one point, but I chose not to use that [I've since learned that this was reported in the New York Post, but was an apparent fabrication]. Other songs he's used as background music that I didn't use are Respect by Aretha Franklin, Unwritten by Natasha Bedingfield and City of Blinding Lights by U2. If anybody who would feel inspired to do a similar mix of songs that Hillary's campaign has used, please feel free (I have collected over a dozen such songs, but I really don't feel inspired to put them together for a mix; I'm not as in sync with her tastes as I am with Barack's). But if nobody is up to do so I may just end up posting such a mix by the next primary date.

he's got my vote - as does your mix. I bet Hillary's never even heard of Earth, Wind & Fire!

Remember the days of Fleetwood Mac "Don't Stop (Thinkin' About Tomorrow)" on repeat.

Great mix for a true Unterrified Democrat. I agree with Alex, I'm sure a Hillary mix would put us to sleep instead of getting our butts to shake and brains to think like this mix and this candidate do.

Great idea, great tunes. Wonder what a Romney mix would look like.

It looks like Obama's musical taste is heavily influenced by his musical coming-of-age years, the late sixties and seventies.

Nicely done. And with my absentee ballot due in just a few weeks...

I think if I tried this with Gordon Brown I'd be inundated with negative comments. Tony Blair was no hipper despite his nuzzling up to Oasis. Good stuff.

This is more my speed. I like the entire mix, and the closer... hush, listen, live... nicely done....If I were to do this with my favorite candidate, I would be hunted down and my lungs ripped out...Gonzo Forever. Duke for President!
