Comment:

On a cool evening late last summer a group of old friends came by to hang out. We sat on the back porch smokin' blonde, sippin' Jamison and reachin' in the cooler for cold Aviator Reds. Those guys brought some new songs and a few old ones too. The topics as usual were life and love but by the end of the night the heated emotions focused on the war.

Nice to hear from some of these guys in 2007. I especially liked the albums from Robert Plant, Levon Helm, John Fogarty, Leon Russell, Bruce Springsteen and Robert Wyatt.

I like quite a few of these myself. Like Anthony, I'm particularly fond of the closer, as it's my second-fave track from my favorite album of this past year.

Very nicely done. Seems being a rock music veteran is serving more and more artists well these days. Good times. I myself was particularly surprised by McCartney - his stuff has been so weak over the years, imo, but "Memory" made up for it handsomely. Also really digging the Springsteen, Ray Davies, Grinderman,a nd Peter Case. Haven't heard the Fogerty album, though, so that gives me something to look forward to.

I seem to have overlooked a lot of these over the past 12 months. Thanks for the reminder.

Neil Young, Richard Thompson and Ray Davies are my pick of the bunch, the latter I got free with a copy of The Sunday Times = best give away I ever got. Great stuff George, here's to friends old & new wherever they may be!

The great thing about this site is that ambient/electronic geeks, like me, can pull up a chair on George's porch and have a listen to cool tunes...like these!
