For New Years Eve this year, I hung out with my two cats Henri and Charlie as my girlfriend waited tables. Along with organizing my music collection, I decided to finish one mix, and start two more. One that I finished a few hours into 2008 is this. Some albums by artists I already knew but also artists I got into for the first time (marked by a *). Mostly 2007 releases but not all. Mostly rock/pop due to my new appreciation and understanding of new rock and "indie" rock. Kanye West's "Flashing Lights" was one of my fav. songs of the year and is the only non-rock song. Rilo Kiley was a final addition added on top of a bad quality of "Hounds of Love" by Kate Bush earlier this morning. Kate Bush was the one artist that I discovered this year that blew me away. So she is still on the mix, you just can't hear her. Of Montreal, Spoon and Rilo Kiely are bands I love now and can't imagine what 2006 was without them. The Yeah Yeah Yeah's EP was the last purchased made of 2007 on the same day. I also want to give props for bands who's albums bought on vinyl came with a mp3 download of the album (noted with a $) Some bands that I couldn't get the mp3 but would've put on this mix: the new dr. jr., new robert wyatt, grinderman, new animal colelctive, & panda bear.
