Another one of my mixes made as X-mas presents, this one for the little sis Skyllah who, in her pre-teen years, is mostly into pop and emo, but who did take a liking to the most recent Peter Bjorn and John album. I tried to pick out some poppy, fun and loud indie tunes to lead her into the light.Feedback:
This kid's got it good with you as a musical benefactor. This is some of the brightest, most delightful indie pop on the scene right now. Not that standouts need mentioning with a setlist this strong, but Los Campesinos, Apples in Stereo, Boy Least Likely to, Shins, Albert Hammond, Spinto, Stars, and Long Winters are beyond awesome. And when is the Spinto Band coming back, dammit? That's what I want to know.
Sondre Lerche - Phantom Punch single handedly fostered my now almost obsessive compulsion to gobble up everything he ever put out. It's just ... *sighs* really effing good. Nellie and Apples in Stereo are on pretty high rotation on my Zune as well.
That Los Campesinos! tune has become one of my top five favorites lately. Also "Be Gentle With Me," which is lovely. Looks amazing!
