Comment:
I guess you can consider this a follow-up to a mix I made when I was courting my current girlfriend. It chronicles the first year of our relationship, which had it's ups-and-downs due to geography (NYC & FL,) and professions (tour manager & student.)It encompasses the early feelings of love and commitment, as well as the melancholy of loving someone an ocean away. When we became more serious, it was obvious the relationship wouldn't work if we couldn't see each other on a regular basis, so I left NYC to live with her.One major obstacle was getting used to the vicious cycle of returning home to acclimate myself, only to leave weeks or days later. She's an amazing woman, with the energy of a hurricane, and I count my blessings everyday I get to be with her, in the eye of her storm.Every song of this mix contains a little bit of us both.Enjoy!!TAKE ME WITH YOUJet Lag, my blog.

Feedback:
Sublime. Really lovely, and engrossing
this looks like a really tremendous listen - the opener, the 8-10 stretch, tracks 12, 14, 15 & 18 are all tops in my book. the al green is particularly a favorite, one of my top 10 all-time. good luck with your relationship, as well...
Awesome, awesome, awesome. I cannot find a bad track on this.
quite solid. I really dig almost all of these tracks.
Oh, for the stretch that is 8-10. I've been listening for that trio all day and here you go posting them. A sign, I tell you.
the troggs and al green are highlights for me and i have a wierd affinity for spooky.
Bugger, I had just gotten that Feist song out of my head (catchy tune that it is) and now here it rears its head again. :) A lot of great stuff on here, making me happy.
The minute I saw this, I knew the only right thing to do would be..
really ace selection, sammy! & congrats on MOTW honors, totally deserved
Thanks for all the kind words and MOTW honors!!!
Superb mix. Love that smile!
Very nice.... Congrats on MOTW!
Troggs, REM, Pixies, Stripes...MOTW well-deserved. Nice one!
Yes. Congrats! I've downloaded but not yet listened. Probably tomorrow AM whilst Nordic Tracking.
Some great tunes to be found here. Nice sentiments in the comments, as well. (Hint, though: Never use the term "current girlfriend," as it suggests you view her as simply the latest in a series and contemplate the possibility of a future [different] girlfriend. Just saying.)
Congrats! That opening duo beats all.
So much great stuff but the opener and closer do it for me totally. Congrats and good luck...
Congrats. Nice collection here too with great picks throughout.
A richly deserved MOTW. Well done sir.
congrats
she has amazing teeth
Wow, this is really amazing. Well deserved MOTW. Congrats.
Ah, she's your current girlfriend, I guess you mean she's electric. I once moved to Russia for the sake of a girl.....less said. Hope it all works out and congrats on MOTW.
Congrats, this is indeed a top mix.
Nice. The much praised opening act bores me, but I like most of the other stuff on here,. It's cool to discover the song that was sampled for Nuthin But A G Thang.
I just finished listening to this and was on the verge of e-mailing to thank you for sending it and to say that it has already become one of my favorites of yours when... shazam!... I see that it is, in fact, officially, an award-winning mix. Good to see that I have such good taste in mix-making partners. All best to you & your sig. other/muse....
I've been in a few storms such as you write about. They all had their moments. I liked every song in the mix (which is nearly impossible) with the exception of Feist. Can't see what all the fuss is about her, but that's just me. Nice work.
Intro to Indie-pop, but in a good way...MOTW deserved.
