Comment:

I wanted a funky Prince mix to put on the ipod to listen to while walking, and this is what I came up with. I stuck with mostly lesser-known and rare songs. I like how it came out. Most of the songs here are either unreleased, or out of print and hard to find.

"One" is from the "8" album (a collection of jazz/funk instrumentals that Prince recorded and released under the name Madhouse). "6 1/2" and "13 (Paisley Mix)" are also Madhouse tracks - remixes that appeared on single only. All of the Madhouse material is out of print, and difficult (and expensive) to find. "Asswoop" is an unreleased song that may have been intended for another Madhouse project. "Rock 'n' Roll is Alive" was the b-side to the "Gold" single. "Hot Thing (Extended Mix)" was the 12" single version of the song from the "Sign o' The Times" album. "Violet the Organ Grinder" is a b-side/remix of "Gett Off", which features elements of the song but different lyrics. The remix of "Housequake" is from the 12" single of "U Got the Look" and has never been released on CD (that I'm aware of.) "Super Hero" and "Outer Space" are both unreleased NPG tracks recorded around the time of the "Exodus" album. "2 Nigs United 4 West Compton" is from the legendary "Black Album." "Shockadelica" was the b-side for the single "If I Was Your Girlfriend," and this extended version comes from the 12" single. "Daddy Pop" is an album track from "Diamonds and Pearls".

This is pretty cool, I made a Prince B-side mix once upon a time that I might have to dig out. It kinda stops at around 1991 though, around the same time as my fixation.
