After making a 2007 mix, I decided it would be great to make mixes throughout the year, adding songs as I acquire them in that order. I will put one song from each album I buy/burn/barrow and any other songs from mixes and compilations. The mixes/compilation part has brought an interesting twist since I decided to put on all the songs by artists I don't really know that well and/or songs I really like. The whole second side of this (minus the Okkervil River), is from the Monitor This! Compilations I have been receiving for free at Bull Moose Music since 2001 I think. I first put on the Hives and Wycleff because they were singles I enjoy even though I don't have the album. I then decided I should add all the other artists that I don't know, or don't plan on making an effort of acquiring their albums. Even though lot of shit will now be on these future mixes (Seether for instance is the only artist I have ever e-mailed to explain how bad their music was, mostly because a single I heard was way to close to Nirvana than any other Nirvana sounding bands. On a positive note, this particular song doesn't sound like Nirvana...as much) I like it because it's still new to me and adds something to my musical adventures that I normally wouldn't hear. I love the limitations that make for an eclectic mix. So here we go, the first of possibly many volumes. *Indicates a New Artist I've Never really heard at the time of the mix.
