Comment:
Last year I had a new house built. The only part still undone is the landscaping, which will include a vegetable garden. In attempting to come up with some ideas that were avant but not too costly for the yard, I happened to hear the Arctic Monkeys song. "Was it a Mecca dobber or a betting pencil?" is one line from this ska groover. So the song was saying to me, mix it up to your heart's content. It doesn't really matter as long as you like the outcome. To paraphrase the french philospher Michael de Montaigne, I want death to find me planting my vegetables, but caring little for them, and even less for my imperfect garden. Seems to me an apt statement about cultivating a mix, at least this one.
So many plants, so many songs, so little time.
quiz alert - Two copies of this mix tracked in full audio (.wav) format with artwork are being made available (a) to the first AOTMer who can tell me the name of the guy singing with the lovely Rosie Thomas on track 4, and (b) anyone wishing to trade a mix.

This is fantastic. I can't wait to get the CD! My new favorite mix.
Lots to like here. Especially Specials, Terry Reid, Curtis Mayfield, Kings of Leon and a great Springsteen pick. Really all of it.
love rosalita and carmelita. hey, a few more litas and i have a mix. thanks!
oh, and welcome to the site.
Digging the opening 3, the Specials, Zevon. G. Love, Annie Lennox and Curtis Mayfield picks. Welcome aboard.
this is a great mix, there a couple songs I dont' know, so I'll have to check those out.
This looks great. Sorry I mised it before. That Zevon track is one of my favorite songs of all-time, and you can't go wrong with your Arctic Monkeys, Dylan, Curtis, Specials or Terry Reid (! always nice to see him here) picks.
Yeah, I'm late on this too. Its great, by the way.
Wow, your title got me confused with the infamous mixer of the same name.
Your mix is breathtaking, I agree with everything everyone else says. That Annie Lennox is my second-favorite version of that song (acoustic version on 4-way street).

I love the title of this mix, very appropriate!
