Comment:
For the hell of it. Yes, I'm beyond late to the Peter Bj÷rn & John party, but now I'm on-board. Thanks to lo-fi for the Flying Lizards track. Title by Nick Cave.Feedback:
Great Magnetic Fields, Radiohead, and RftC picks. And speaking of being late to the party, I'm getting the feeling that I should be on the Black Mountain bandwagon...
Stellar, as always, my friend. I dig the Radiohead, Can, Gary Wright(!), PB&J, Birthday Party and Black Mountain tracks a whole lot. Curious to hear the Ayler/Davis/Milford track leading into Black Mountain, as well. I'm guessing it's pretty friggin' great.
Mike Bloomfield was never late for a party but the Super Session jams were the best ever in that genre for my money. Nice choice.
there's some great stuff here . . . including one of my favourite covers ever in the Flying Lizards . . .
WOW - Great mix! I'm on-board, ready for a link...
Love the Mag Fields, Radiohead, Can and SFA picks. Have the new Black Mountain on order.
This mix looks terrif! I'm afraid I'm behind on the Peter Bj÷rn & John myself.
Ooodles of good stuff, Rob. I think I can assemble this... which makes me feel pretty damn sexy.
The Magnetic Fields track is at the top of my '08 charts while Young Folks was on my best of '07 list.
I'm likin' lots of this... and the new Magnetic Fields and Black Mountain are great picks.
I like....
& God gave the Flying Lizards their sex appeal too, but I don't think he ever did give them what they wanted, did he? Nice one!
hmm i dunno, i heard the PB&J (hey, peanut butter & jelly) when it was first released, & it's catchy enough & pretty pleasant but it got irritating rather quickly. to each his own, i guess. adore the mag fields, radiohead, jam, camera obscura (i was under the impression you weren't a fan, for some odd reason) & black mountain tracks.
Smokin' mix Rob. Great Papa Nes track, but of course. Nice to see some RftC on AotM - infact that's a great 15-16 combo. 14 is a fave too..
Very interesting, chief.
YAY! I LOVE this mix, Rob! I'm really digging the new M.F album, too! (and i really like The Birthday Party track!)
Not a bad song in sight here
Fantastic mix-up, Rob. God gave you some finely tuned ears as well.
Excellent stuff Rob
One sexy mix, my friend. Love that track from the new Jesus & Magnetic Chain CD, as well as the Lizards, Camera Obscura and the 60s Bee Gees. Yes you are a bit late to the Peter Bj÷rn & John party (that song's so 2007), but I just jumped on the Gary Wright bandwagon, so we're even ;)
God gave you something Mr C. Terrific work here.
Great SFA-Bee Gees face off and I love the Black Mountain track. Good stuff all round Rob
Looks great -- and non-controversial! Congrats!
I still haven't caught on to the Peter Bj÷rn & John party yet... perhaps one day. Everything else here is fantastic though. That Camera Obscura to Black Mountain stretch is sweet.
For the heaven of it, methinks.
In the finest "FTHOI" tradition!
This looks fantastic, though I must admit I despise that Flying Lizards track. And allow me to take this rare opportunity to brag about knowing something from the 21st century -- alma cogan introduced me to that PB & J track way back in 2006 and I'm still not sick of it. Love the John Phillips & Albert Ayler. You're on quite a Bee Gees kick aren't you?
The Jam, Can and "Big Jesus Trash Can" are favorites on this one. and I'm beyond beyond late to the Can party. but at least I did bring a bottle of wine when I finally arrived.
Great Mix, Mr C!
Ok, I missed this one while I was out of town, but... "Love Is Alive"?!?! Talk about bringin' back those pre-teen memories! Though I have to say I'm slightly partial to "Dream Weaver," but close call...
This is currently my fav type of mix - need the category added to the official list!
The Kooper & Bloomfield does it for me, especially after the Bee Gees.
