Crowns for Convoy
Comment:
"...(H)e which hath no stomach to this fight,
Let him depart; his passport shall be made
And crowns for convoy put into his purse:
We would not die in that man's company
That fears his fellowship to die with us."
-- William Shakespeare "Henry V"
Feedback:
Truckin' on through the night! Dig the Mammatus & Dead Meadow.
An excellent start with Belew out of the gate. Very nice listening experience tonight.
love the trippel ending
as per usual, some cool tracks tucked in among a lot of mystery which i hope to soon unravel
Love the The Assemble Head In Sunburst Sound track and the Young-Holt Unlimited track would make my top 50 all time favorite songs list.
Nice. Love the opener and it just gets better from there.
This looks fantastic. Nice Dim Stars, Major Stars, Faust, and tremendous Lightning Bolt picks.
Kudos on the Belew, Kid Koala and Lightening Bolt tracks.
Not a lot that I know here... 1,6,7,14, and of course the soulful strut. I'm sure the rest is a great listen.
Listened to this at work today and really liked tracks 2 and 3. Also nice to hear "The Sad Skinhead"... its been a while.
Looks like I got myself a Convoy!! Looks great.
I'm sure Rob was disappointed when he realized the name of the mix wasn't Crowns For Conroy ;) Great to still see ya here on '08!
Fair amount of psychedelic influence thoughout. I, too, really dig that Mammatus track. ANd, Anton Barbeau was recently highlighted by Valis, so I can join in that recent acquistions splendor, as well. As for the rest, splendid, splendid, splendid. A typical Curtis Burns Must Listen.
Convoy with a V? Haven't noticed his mixes around here.
Always good to see Samla / Zamla on a mix. And Faust natch!
like Musicgnome says . . . 'a typical Curtis Burns Must Listen' . . . . many thanks for the link too . . . sad skinhead indeedy !
crikey, listening now . . . . excellent !
Actually, it's funny that Moe said that (particularly in conjunction with sport!'s comment) . Not that I was looking for a dedication at all. However, a (52-year-old) co-worker of mine exclaims, "Mercy's sakes I think we got us a Conroy!" on a regular basis when I arrive at work.
nobody talks to me at work. but I played this one there anyway, loved the Xinlisupreme to Mammatus' circusness, the Faust/Anton Barbeau pair was fabulous, as was the pair of Lightning Bolt & Skeleton Crew there at the end. also particularly liked the one playing at the 40 min mark, and really liked the one just before that, the mellow one with the guy w/ the nice voice on vocals. it had a melancholy feel that reminded me of that time we drove up the coast to Hudiksvall and spent two weeks in that old summer cottage in September of '99. but that's all over now.
Great review by Alex says enough for me.
