31 The Spiders - On The Road
32 Thorinshield - One Girl
33 Jan & Dean - Like A Summer Dream
34 Andwella's Dream - Goodbye
A selection of Bubblegum, Psych-Pop and Sunshine sounds from the Sixties, very much a continuation of my Gems Series, this being, quite possibly, the strongest so far.
FACT! The Tinkerbell Fairydust track is a cover of Joe Cocker's debut single.
FICTION! The Kid Rock featured here is the very same hard living, tattoed, American Gangsta we all love - ahem.
FACT! The Sopwith Camel named themselves after a British WWI Fighter Aircraft.
FICTION! The Smoke track featured here is the original version of Rihanna's million selling 2007 smash hit.
OPINION! The Zombies cut on this mix is as good as anything off 'Odessey and Oracle'.

Only one of these 34 tracks breaks the 3 minute barrier - The Denny Doherty is a staggering 3:09! Mix title comes from a Del Shannon song which was considered, but became one of many painfully cut...

It is great how there are still more 60s songs to discover. Thanks for putting together this gem. And you know I love to find unknown originals, so will be checking out the Rihanna precursor by Smoke. Keep 'em poppin', Kid Sam.

Awesome. The 60s continue to be an endless treasure trove. I guess I'm doing pretty good to know about a third of these songs but can't wait to give this mix a listen.

Quite mouth-watering. Seeing Honeybus on there makes me want to nimbly pop off to the kitchen and make some toast. Stand outs for me nos. 2,5,9,11,12 and 17.

A fun mix! Listening to it made me think of the Beatles, innocence, sunshine, the joy of pop music, my youth, listening to the top ten on the radio, and England, among other things.

Superflabbergasted indeed! A mix so fine -- but I ain't gonna kiss you. Okay, maybe I will. Any mix that shows love to the Aerovons, the Moon, Thorinshield, the Smoke (Rihanna did cover this version on the b-side), Jackpots, Left Banke, Roger Nichols .. okay my fingers are gettin' tired. Did you hack into my computer and steal all my songs?

Jeebus, this looks good, Sammy! A lot of this is out of my comfort zone of stuff I listen to, but that doesn't mean I don't dig the bubblegum now and then. Thanks for the linky.

As my grandmother always used to say: "never say 'fuck' unless you fuckin' well mean it" . That said...Fuck Me! this is awesome. All perfect, beautiful pop songs. Love the Cherry People ( I have that single), Rogers Nichols, The WCPAEB. And Thundermugs ! There was a local band around here in the early 70's called Thundermug. Same band?

finally got this one stuck on my computer. bubbly, good-mood music from start to finish, Sam. that Cherry People song is an old favorite (I, too, have the single but it's kinda scratched... and then I found the entire LP in great shape at a junky little store in Everett, WA last year!) and the Aerovons, Jude and of course the Kid Rock song slapped a smile on my face. my colleague at work was practically climbing over the partition to get a better listen to this one.
