Smooth (or pop) jazz always seems to get a bad rap, but I kinda like it. It's easy on the ears, which is a good thing sometimes.
Back in the day, I saw many of these artists in small clubs. Some great performers who pushed well beyond the "smooth" stylings when playing live.
Too bad on the Kenny G, but I guess I would give these tracks a listen. The rest looks very nice, especially George Benson.
So, so, so happy to see Najee represented! And I like Kenny G. Great mix!
