Comment:
For the hell of it. Yes, *that* Warren Oates. Title by Wooden Wand.Feedback:
Hooker and Kris, hanging out with Nina and Nick Cave. Beauty, eh?
shit, this sounds like it'd be so good
like what I see
1,3,13-15 are on my manifesto.
Another great fry-up Rob.
X, always a pleasure to see them on a mix and I particularly like that track.
Originally I hailed from Massachusetts where Mission of Burma had a decent fan base. Just seeing them on a mix brings back memories.
Well, the Black Mountain and Nick Cave tunes are two of my three favorite songs so far this year. Add in the Hooker, Newman and Stones and this is pretty spectacular.
Holy shit, dude! Soooooo many favorites on here. X, Dangerdoom, Silver Apples, Nick Cave and that stretch from Nina Simone->Wooden Wand looks spec-fucking-tacular.
One of my favorite MoB songs (excluding "Academy" and "Revolver," which are, to my ears, the only two must-own MoB tunes); been thinking about those reissues, but I have the old Ryko compilation and it does such a thorough job it's hardly worth replacing. One of my favorite X tracks as well.
Hello, what's this??Hell's bells, another hellacious for the hell of it mix! Nina, Randy, Holly & John Lee should play together more often.
Nice selection of tunes! I'm particularly fond of the new Nick Cave, Holly Golightly, Nana Simone, The Move and X tracks.
some fantastic tunes here X, Mission of Burma, Nina Simone, Black Mountain etc.
this looks fantastically cool, rob - love the stones (cool little gem there), black mountain, randy newman, dangerdoom, & kris kristofferson tracks especially....
Awesome!
I cannot wait to listen to this!
I'm with KathrynandRupert. I love X's The Hungry Wolf as well!
Excellent mix, Rob! Have to chime in on the X selection, brings back memories of seeing them at Wolfgang's in SF.
all over the shop, which I love . . . looking forward to listen . . .
Great title. Fine mix also Rob. 2-4, 12, 16 & 20-21 rock my boat..
Hella good, Rob... 19 to 21 is absolutely in-your-face. Great sequencing there.
*That* Johnny Whitaker? The kid from Sigmund & the Seamonsters? Looks good amigo. The latest Mojo has a nice article Kristofferson. Why am I always plugging Mojo in my comments? Someone needs to get a free subscription.
Wow - one of the best FTHOI's I've seen in a while (and that's saying something)!! And Warren Oates?!
Lots of great stuff here... looking forward to getting that new Nick Cave. Really liking the X, Silver Apples, AHC, MoB, Black Mountain, Move...
Dig the, uh, Nick Cave track. Nina Simone's always mix gold and I'm quite fond of that first Kris Kristofferson LP.
I love that title track. And everything else (that I know) here, too, come to think of it.
Finally downloading this one, my friend. You can always count on james jackson toth to give up the goods with excellent mix titles.
::applause::
Randy Newman, Nina and Hooker are right up my alley!
