Comment:
Sadie Buzzard: August 9, 1923 - March 15, 2008 she was always "Grammie" to me. I wouldn't say music was one of her passions (she liked painting and antiques), but she did indirectly throw a wrench into my typical teenage musical listening habits when my younger sister discovered the Reader's Digest "Jukebox Saturday Night" 7-record set of hits from the 1940s stored beneath her stereo. we taped some of our favorites and couldn't stop listening to them. I started collecting records by The Andrews Sisters and eventually began exploring more music of the big band era. (several years ago, Grammie gave me all her records, including "Jukebox Saturday Night," so a few of my favorite songs from that old tape are included here.) Grammie had a playful sense of humor and liked to joke around. She loved to tease us and to have us lovingly tease her back. A devoted Christian, she would tell me often that prayer really changes things, and she always enjoyed listening while I played the piano. Taking all this into consideration, I've made this mix that would not only remind me of her when I heard it, but it's one that I think she would have enjoyed too. she will certainly be missed. listen to sideone.
listen to side
two.

Feedback:
thank you for sharing all of that, it takes me back to my family and the music and lives that inspired me before they passed on. here's to grammie!
Rest in peace, Sadie Buzzard. She had at least two things in common with my grandmother: they were both devoted Christians who love to hear us play the piano! And I see she also caught some big fish in her day. (I just sent you an email, Alex).

She was lucky to have such a great grandsonnie. Looks like she would have gotten on with my own Grammie pretty well.
A loving tribute! Side two especially is very beautiful and peaceful. That Grammie gave you her record collection shows her heart and wisdom. Wonderful that music played such an important role in your relationship that she now can live on in your heart through these songs.
Condolences from across the pons Alex, a truly fitting tribute mix.
