Comment:
I had posted this earlier as a genuine mix-tape from our college days, and received a big goose egg of comments. Now, thanks to Eliot Potter, the tape has been transferred to mp3. Looking back now, I think that I made a mistake that evening when Steve and I originally did this by bringing over a 110 minute tape and also by insisting we finish that night, as burn-out (by the burnouts) was quickly evident. So, I have salvaged the best of it down to about 77 minutes or so, with an improved re-flow of tracks. I remember Steve always liked our run that now forms tracks 8-10, but the entire mix is classic Wad, representing everything he introduced my Dylan-freak brain to as a teen. In conclusion, and I know this goes against my everything I stand for in mixing ;-) , sometimes less is more.
Feedback:
Kick Ass. The Sonics - Strychnine...nuff said.
Love Satellite and that 16-20 run is damn fine.
This is one powerhouse of a mix...but where's disc two? ;)6-7 and 11-14 are my favorite bits. Oh, and most certainly the opener too.
Very sweet. let me second mg's comments about Strychnine. The whole thing makes me wanna have a party!
this where I live!
Very nice,
the 10-17 stretch can't be beat!

aces! - across the board - thank you
Ah, the perils of the 110 minute tape.... Really, really nice looking mix.
Wow! I don't know where to begin, frankly...this is just a classy lineup all the way! My personal favorites are the Stones, Hendrix, Dolls, and Pistols tracks.
I haven't heard James Brown's original version of Talkin' Loud And Sayin' Nuthin', but I'm very familiar with the tune from Living Colour's cover version.
It's also cool that you put the original Otis Redding version of Hard To Handle here. I mean, I love the Black Crowes, but it's nice to hear the original from time to time.
And what can I say about She's So Fine? One of the Hendrix Experience's most underrated tracks. Noel Redding R.I.P.

Pretty nice. Love it!
This mix contains some musical concepts that could be expanded upon at greater length. ;-)
classic stuff
I can picture the momentum bulding as you two put the original together, with an occasionsl "I need to breath" tune thrown in. That opener pretty much sets the tone.
Dude's all partied out! This is awesome obviously.
this looks phenomenal, derek, it's hard to even single out any tracks, as the entire thing is really first rate - if i really had to though, i'd say the whole 1-26 run is particularly strong
I love all this stuff. Great mix
This looks pretty great to me.
D/Ling now...
Connect completely with this Derek.
Ditto the gnome!
All great songs! I have found a new favorite in Mose Allison. And of course, you definitely can't go wrong with Jimi, James and Sly.A funky good time!
