Comment:
Thanks to Hip-o Select for making these songs available on their 'The Complete Motown Singles, Vol. 1' box set, which included 155 tracks from the issue years of 1959-61. Most of the songs never charted in the top 100. A few that did chart, such as Money (That's What I Want) by Barrett Strong (1960 #23), Bye Bye Baby by Mary Wells (1961 #45), and Please Mr. Postman by The Marvelettes (1961 #1) weren't used in this mix because they were used in prior mixes of mine. Just as well I think because they would have stolen attention away from the lesser known songs which make up the bulk of the collection and are worthy of ones singular attention. The playing time of the mix is 78m08s.
Feedback:
alot of favorites from back in the day
Love this, Joe. An era of Motown I had never explored.
How can you go wrong? Joe + Motown = perfection.
This is Supreme, Joe.
