Comment:

This mix is posted in two parts! Be sure you don't miss the other half and other download here. My friend Jennifer was in town for work last week and we had lunch. We somehow got on the topic of just how much my tastes in music have changed since the last time we had lunch, which, sadly was about this time two years ago. I'm mostly an Indie kid now, and I was then, but with a lot more Alt Country and Post-Rock. I took a step back in time and harvested this 4 disc boxset that serves as a snapshot of me in 2006. I had a lot of fun doing this because I guess I have a bad habit of concentrating mostly on new music.
Track Notes:
03: Her vocals remind me of a deep-fried Angela McCluskey, who is someone I've been way into since her Wild Colonial days.
06: The beginning of this song always reminds me of Coldplay's "Clocks", but then it's not and I feel cheated.
07: I did not like this song at all until I saw it live. Now when I hear this I remember how much fun I had yelling "Uh" along with the rest of the crowd.
24: Quite possibly the only remix in the history of the world that I think is better than the original. This is off Satanic Twins that was only available as a digital Download or on vinyl.
25: Caught this live at SXSW. Easily my top ten fav tracks of 2006.
27: I want to run away from home and live in this song.

There's a whole bunch to like about this and its companion mix. It goes well with my headphones.
