Comment:
Back with a new mix. And after recently posting quite a few `themed' and `specific genre' mixes, it's nice to free myself of the shackles and limitations of such things and actually throw anything and everything into the cauldron. As long as it's bloody good. So this one's a jumbled up mix of all sorts, with lots of twists, turns and genre hops. The irony of the mix title is not lost on me, as this one contains more modern music ( ie post 1972 ) than many of my previous mixes.
Download if only for the lovely Adem closer, his version of Pinback's Loro is just about the best thing I've heard all year. It's soon to be yours. Enjoy!
Feedback:
I am, e'en now, dowloading this splendid thing. It looks irresistable. I am particularly drawn to the inclusion of Jim Noir and the closing couplet. And yes Sam, you are right on the money about Adem. So thanks for that. Such sweet anticipation...
Saving the best (dessert) for last, eh? No problem, the rest looks just as delicious.
Glad you let loose Sam. Love Jim Noir and MGMT tracks especially.
I'm just psyched to see that Kenickie track- but everything else looks equally good.

Only know Spiritualized, Kenickie & Neon Neon, so looking forward to being schooled...
From what little I know here, this looks great.
I recently heard Tristan Prettyman cover that Yael Naim song...Anyway, this looks really fun.<3 Sara
Looks neat-o, Sammy. And what's that cou;le in the doorway waiting for...
...don't they realize that the polar bear is waiting for them to get out their copy of Twister, so then can all play along to your mix???

What Rob said
what i know here is terrific as usual, sammy, & i'm looking forward to the rest - no doubts in my head
I do like that Neon Neon track, and this looks like another excellent Sammy production.
A Sammy mix is always special and this is no exception. When I saw the title I was hoping that Hit Parade song would be on there :). Persephone's Bees, I must check them out as Persephone is the name I'd give my daughter if I had one and if Kathryn would let me.
Great stuff here, what I know anyway. BoC, Persephone's Bees, MGMT and more.
Spiritualized, Fruit Bats, Jim Noir...looking good!
Marvelous, Sammy. Lovin' 3,6,12,13 and 20 and lookin' forward to the dl.
You had me at Lollipop Train.
It is a pleasant surprise to me to recognize a couple things off one of your mixes. Thanks for the others too.
What, no Weepies? :D
Fantastic-looking mix. Download, here I come...

Looking forward to listen, I know little here..Great cover as well!
Real good closer. Love the opening two as well. Great "modern" mix.
As usual, I'm always late to Sammy's party. It seems the panda bear made quick work of all the guests, and even took time to clean up the blood spatter. Love the looks of this mix -- the steamin' Lollipop Train, Apple spokesinger Yael Naim, the juicy Fruit Bats, the whistlin' Loose Fur, The huge Little Ones, the sunshine pop of the Settlers, the punky Kenickie and the stinging Persephone's Bees. Will add to my download queue.
Absolutely spot-on; you seem to do this every time! Love the Housemartins pick in the middle there, as well as the Boards of Canada (LOVE), Kenickie (Kenickie!!) and Fruit Bats. Just great from start to finish.
I just learned what "<3" means this week. it always baffled me when I saw it, since I thought it meant "less than three." I agree it's fun to make mixes where "anything goes," as they say, after doing a bunch of theme mixes. this is one enjoyable hunk'a music: Autumn Leaves, Petty Booka, Triplets of Bellville (loved that film), Sebastian Tellier and the MGMT/Persephone's Bees/Animal Collective trio were favorites, along with the recommended Adem song. your cover art is especially wonderful on this one too, Sam. but I'm afraid Jim Noir didn't make it to the party - which distresses me after reading everyone's glowing reviews below. I would <3 to hear it!
I get it! thanks ,I'm headed to that Belleville Rendez-vous right now!!
Yes, forgot to mention - the Jim Noir track is attatched to the Boards of Canada Mp3, not something I normally do but felt it necessary on this occasion. Cheers for the nice things everyone's sayin'...
Hey Sammy! Got this gem downloaded earlier today, and after a cursory listen, I'm very impressed. Thanks for clearing up the track two/three controversy. Was thinking it was a very unusual song: two minutes of weird bleeps, followed by a soundbite from a British (?) game show and then a really catchy pop song.
And for my Stateside friends, the quiz show clip featured in track 2 is

Looks Good, Sam. Big plus the Neon Neon track from my favourite album of the year so far. I'm working on getting together the Fallish Things mix but a bit time poverty stricken at the moment. Expect it soon (ish!)
That magic touch. It's all good.
Kenickie!!! Bless them. "In Your Car" is an amazing song.
