Comment:

So many great soundtracks to all those classic cheesy 80s movies. "Pretty in Pink" is probably my favorite. "She's Having a Baby," "The Lost Boys," "Some Kind of Wonderful," and "Footloose" are some of my other faves, but there are a bunch of good ones.

I had an idea a while back to invent my own 80s soundtrack and worked on it for a bit, but I kinda forgot about it while I did other stuff. Then this weekend I watched part of "Sixteen Candles" and I decided to do finish it.

I imagine the storyline as a bit of a cross between "Sixteen Candles" and "Pretty in Pink", with maybe "Some Kinda Wonderful" thrown in - in other words, the typical John Hughes 80s flick. I don't know exactly... just make it up as you hear the songs.

I can totally imagine these songs being in one of those films. :)

And the cover, I found a random picture of an 80's-looking gal via google and just splashed some paint on it. She's definitely the main character. (And of course, she has a quirky male best friend who dresses funky, is probably gay, and has stellar taste in music!)

Hopefully this will be a fun mix for folks to hear. It's 50.11 total time, 95.4 mb.

You make the 80's sound better than they were. Great Holly & the Italians track.

The '80s were great in their own way, just as every other decade was, or currently is. This is a delightful concept with entertaining execution. Now I have to go look for my shoulder pads and hair gel . . .

my favorite part was the stretch from 3 to 7. I have that Masquerade song on a 7" that I found somewhere for a quarter. It's awesome! glad to see that here; it's perfect for your theme. also loved the My Mine track. a great idea for a mix. everyone in the office enjoyed listening, though I'm the only one to admit it openly.
