Comment:
After making my 1928 mix, I thought of making one more for my Father's birthday (he turns 80 next month). Since not only music but WWII had a profound influence on his growing years, I thought I'd combine the two. Track 22 may actually have been issued in 1946. The length of the mix is 79m26s.
Feedback:
Rum And Coca-Cola is my favorite of another mix of highlights for me. íMis respetos, se±or!
Love the Ink Spots track and the look into past decades.
Another bang-up entry! Some serious gems on here. Sweet.
looks like a fun lesson
wow, Dinah Shore features twice recently! Next up, Dinah Shore Jr.! Cool picks here.
Some great stuff during the War Years. The Garland / Kelly, Eckstine, Ink Spots / Ella and Mills Bros tracks are highlights for me.
Outstanding, as always. Many standards. I showed this mix to my 91-year-old Father and he started singing some of the tunes. Any chance for a link? Thanks, Joe.
I'd printed out this playlist in hopes of a link appearing... but I guess they didn't have download links during the War Years. :) looks great, anyway - I bet I'd love the Jo Stafford/Pied Pipers number and The Ink Spots and Mills Bros. have been favorites for years.
did you know that this is the first and only time Abe Lyman has ever appeared on a mix on this website? incredible. anyway, that was one of my favorites, along with "Mairzy Doats" and "Deep In the Heart of Texas." wonderful set.
