As we close out our cruise through the waters of yacht rock, we set sail for foreign shores, where we’ll discover some of its greatest stylists. Our first port of call is Australia, where the Little River Band ratchet up their high-sea harmonies, waxing poetic about their brotherhood with the albatross and the whale in the seafaring serenity of “Cool Change.” British prog-rockers 10CC dip down into the darker side of the island experience when they encounter a not-too-friendly native in the reggae-fied travelog of “Dreadlock Holiday.” Nigerian-born British transplant Sade restores our sense of calm, wafting through the speakers like a Caribbean breeze in the whisper-soft gorgeousness of “Paradise.” And, finally, Elton John celebrates us home with a seven-plus-minute slab of white-boy funk (and lyrics from longtime sidekick Bernie Taupin), letting his love light ride in “Dreamboat.”
